Goals - Vanessa discusses the importance of sticking to your goals and how to effectively do so.
One God - Look around your house and your walls – who are you worshipping? It is important to understand that there is only one God that we worship.
Venting - While venting can be therapeutic, it is wise to fully understand a situation before venting to someone to avoid further issues.
Funeral - During a funeral, sometimes it is best to stay silent. Simply being there, silently supporting loved ones of the deceased speaks volumes.
Texting - A lot of communication is lost when texting. Unlike verbal communication, there is no tone of voice, inflection, or body language, it can be hard to convey what you mean.
Compassion - Drawing from one of her daughter’s experiences, Vanessa stresses the importance of teaching compassion. One must treat others how they want to be treated.
Be Silent - While it may be coincidence that ‘listen’ and ‘silent’ have the same letters, it’s no coincidence that in order to truly listen, you must be silent.
Starting Anew - It does not have to be the start of the new year for you to start anew. You can start anew whenever you want, Vanessa explains how.
Self Talk - When a child is talking about themselves negatively, it is the responsibility of the adult to help them reframe the way they see themselves.
Conscience - Vanessa discusses one’s inner voice, their conscience. This voice, she says, is a spiritual one that guides us.
Etiquette - “All things must be done properly and in an orderly manner.” Vanessa stresses the importance of practicing proper etiquette, even when you are in a rush.
Discipline - Discipline is imperative. Especially as parents, one must be able to instill their children with discipline.
Always Try - While it may seem like we are in a never-ending loop of trying to please those around us, we must remember to always do our best and give Jesus the rest.
Examination - One must examine their actions each and every day, consulting their conscience as to whether or not they could have done better.
Influencers - It is not about who has the most money or who’s a household name, but about the people whose lives we impact every day, says Vanessa.
Buddy Bench - Everyone needs a friend. The only way to have a friend is to be a friend says Vanessa as she recalls the concept of the “Buddy Bench” which is intended to foster friendship.
Wicked Witch - As time wears on, sometimes it is those around us who remind us what it is to be Christ centered and help us return to that.
Over Critical - There is an art to communicating, says Vanessa. You must carefully craft the right approach when trying to convey to someone that they are being over bearing or over critical.
Power of Words - The spoken word is mighty. We must think of the words we give power to before we speak.

Share Knowledge - You can’t share what you don’t know. Vanessa encourages folks to be educated so that they may be effective evangelists.
Power of Words - Words are fascinating in the power they possess, says Vanessa. With our words we are able to bridge gaps and spark reconciliation.
Trust in Christ - Jesus is right here with you, says Vanessa, he always is. One must trust in the Lord with their whole heart and not “on their own leaning”.
Ask for Prayers - We know that scripture teaches us that whatever you ask in prayer you will receive if you have faith. We must pray without ceasing.
Words of Wisdom - Words of wisdom are better received when we hold our tongues. Allow yourself to listen and hear what others are saying.
Don't be Silent - In times of conflict, it may sometimes easier to just be silent and stay away from whatever may be transpiring, however, says Vanessa, we are called to speak up.
Active Consumer - Drawing on a personal experience, Vanessa talks about our right as consumers to speak out against inappropriate and offensive material. Scripture calls us to do just that, she says.

Taking Advantage - No one likes confrontation. When you want to address a sensitive subject, approach carefully and pray on it.
Communicate Christ - In order to communicate like Christ, says Vanessa, we must first know Christ. Incorporating gospel, scripture, etc. in our daily lives allows us to know Christ and thus communicate like him.
A Friend in Jesus - To find a friend in Jesus, one must speak to our Lord and Savior. Speak to him often and you will find that you truly have a friend in Jesus.
Communicating Kindness - Communicating kindness is imperative, says Vanessa. One must look into their heart and try to understand why they may communicate unkind messages.
Receptive Listening - Just as you are willing to give someone criticism, you must also be willing to listen to someone else’s criticism of you and be receptive while doing so.

Listening to Criticism - Sometime, people see things in us that we may not see in ourselves. It is for this reason that we must be open to receiving constructive criticism.
